How I'd walk Itaewon · Haebangchon

이태원·해방촌 · 7 stops

a Friday, early evening to late

Itaewon is a night, not a day — and a going-out night at that. I'd come on a Friday around five or six, while it's still light: shop first, eat up in Haebangchon, then walk the hill as the sun goes and let the bars have the rest. Friday or Saturday, though — the clubs don't open midweek.

One person's route, in the order I'd walk it. No photos, no rankings.

1. TWL

TWL Shop · Noksapyeong-daero 40na-gil

Browse, but don't buy tonight — there's too much good here to choose well.

~9 min · up into Haebangchon

2. SATE

사테 · Sinheung-ro

Fill up here — the food's the point, not the drink. Small room, so book if you can.

~2 min · further up Sinheung-ro

3. Hills & Europa

힐즈앤유로파 · Sinheung-ro

One more, with the records on — the pudding is not optional. A DM ahead helps.

~7 min · up, and time it for sunset

4. Sinheung Market

해방촌 신흥시장 · Sinheung-ro

5. cul sec

큐섹 · Noksapyeong-daero

6. Drinks, and a dance

NYAPI · Bolero

7. FAUST

파우스트 · Bogwang-ro 60-gil

The rest of the route — why each stop, in what order, and how long between them — is in the app, along with what to order at every one.

End on the techno at Faust and go home whenever it lets you — and if no taxi comes, the night buses from Itaewon station are the better wait.
